Local-first by design

Your résumé, profile, saved answers, application history, and receipts are stored on your own Mac. hahayay does not operate a server that holds your application data.

What leaves your machine

Three things: (1) job-posting text and your profile summary sent to Anthropic's Claude API, under your own API key, to tailor your documents; (2) the applications you send to employers; (3) subscription billing handled by Stripe — your card details go to Stripe, never to hahayay.

Demographic (EEO) questions

Demographic questions default to "prefer not to say." If you opt in, your answers are stored encrypted in a separate store on your machine, are never included in AI requests, and can be deleted at any time from Settings. Revoking consent deletes the stored answers.

Encryption

The local database is encrypted at rest with a key stored in the macOS Keychain. Confirmation screenshots are stored encrypted and are deleted after the retention window (30 days by default).

Telemetry

The founding release sends no analytics or telemetry.
